The management of Constantino Gutiérrez, S.A., aware of the characteristics of its industrial activity dedicated to the design, production and sale of fertilisers, as well as the risks inherent to it, adopts the following PRINCIPLES that comprise its QUALITY AND SAFETY POLICY. Through this policy, management commits to the development and implementation of the Management System and the continuous improvement of its effectiveness.
The purpose of this QUALITY AND SAFETY POLICY is not only to fulfil the expectations of stakeholders and achieve continuous improvement, but also to guarantee a high degree of protection for people, goods and the environment, through the appropriate means, structures and management systems.
To achieve this, customer satisfaction must be considered to be paramount. In addition, it is essential that the legal and regulatory requirements are known and applied.
Based on the QUALITY AND SECURITY POLICY, the guidelines of which are set out in this document, management plans objectives for continuous improvement, providing the resources needed to achieve this. These objectives will be known to all and will include a series of specific actions that everyone, to the extent applicable, must carry out.
This document aims to communicate the relevance and importance of the activities of all the organisation’s staff and to confirm that their collaboration is necessary to achieve the objectives. To do this, it is essential that all staff comply with all the requirements established through the System processes (procedures and instructions) and that any problems that arise or suggestions that may provide added value and efficiency to the products and services offered by the company are communicated immediately.
Management commits to providing the necessary human and material resources. In addition, an annual review of the Management System will be carried out and all members of the organisation will be informed of the result with regard to the monitoring of the objectives.
The QUALITY AND SECURITY POLICY is based on the following guidelines, which are approached from two points of view.
On the one hand, with regard to our organisation’s commitment to the quality of products and services offered to customers, the general guidelines are as follows:
- Carry out the design, production and sale of fertilisers, guaranteeing compliance with customer requirements and their satisfaction.
- Select the best raw materials in order to ensure a product in optimum condition for our customers.
- Maintain adequate infrastructure that ensures product quality and worker safety.4. Continuously improve the effectiveness of the Management system.
In addition, the following guidelines are established from the point of view of preventing serious accidents:
- The protection of the health and safety of employees and facilities, as well as that of the community and the environment, is a basic principle for the development of business activities.
- Safety is a function of the manager that must be assumed, led and managed by the workers in their area of responsibility.
- Potential incidents that may occur in relation to the safety of the activities and integrity of the facilities will be systematically identified; their possible causes and consequences will be assessed; and the means and resources needed to prevent and mitigate their consequences will be provided.
- The procedures and instructions necessary to ensure the safe operation of facilities and execution of activities will be adopted.
- Employees will be informed and trained on the risks that their products and production activity may generate and on the guiding principles, prevention measures, security systems, operational procedures and response to established emergencies. The competent authority will also be informed of these risks and actively collaborate in their prevention.
- There is a commitment to continuous improvement of safety that results in the use of resources that may be generated by business activity.
- Contractors and subcontractors will be informed of the safety aspects so that they apply adequate safety rules in the course of their activities.
- The effects on safety will be assessed and taken into account in new projects or industrial developments, introducing the systems needed to effectively protect people, facilities and the environment.
- Planning will be carried out for emergency situations, adopting and applying procedures aimed at identifying foreseeable emergencies based on a systematic analysis, as well as preparing, checking and reviewing emergency plans and providing ad hoc training for affected staff.
- Safety objectives will be established and monitored.
- The Quality and Safety Policy and the Safety Management System will be audited and reviewed regularly.
