We know that the challenge we are facing is enormous: In 2050 the world population will increase to almost 10 thousand million people.<\/h4>\r\n

This will not only escalate the demand for food, but also aggravate the problem we are already facing about food security and raise the number of people suffering malnutrition and hunger in the world. In 2020, according to the FAO, between 720 and 811 million people suffered from hunger.<\/p>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

Aware of our role<\/h3>\r\n

We are also aware of the climate crisis and our role in it: agriculture and related land uses account for one-quarter of greenhouse gas emissions.<\/h4>\r\n

In addition to that, we will have to deal with the consequences of rising global temperatures, changing temperature patterns, water shortages and new pests and diseases on crops.<\/p>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
